Read full description of the books:'The Vinyl Effect' is the short story of a twelve-year-old boy, Mark, who finds himself the lone survivor of a nuclear attack that hits the Pennsylvania small town he lives in during an assembly at his junior high school. As he relives his sad and bleak life through the nostalgia of super 8 home movies and Kodachrome photographs, he tries to seek out other survivors while dying from radiation poisoning in the town park, unaware of what's real and what are just hallucinations brought on by his illness.
Read information about the authorWhere to begin? ...Why to begin? The majority of people who read fiction books are reading the books, not the author's life story, aren't they? Oh, well.
My full name is Rebecca Maye McNutt, only my middle name is largely irrelevant since I hardly use it. I was born in 1998. The first book I wrote and had published was the fiction novel 'Smog City', when I was twelve. It has since become a series and is available in the anthology 'Mandy and Alecto'. I've written a number of other fictional works, mostly short stories, mostly out-of-print titles. I also wrote the novellas 'Danvers: the Reckoning' and 'Three Little Ghostly Operatives'.
I don't believe in man-made climate change and I think that all the measures being taken to prevent it are ridiculous, but if you believe in it, you have every right to. I'll agree to disagree. I like canned black olives, neo-gothic architecture, old factories/industrial buildings, vintage photography, those big coffee table photo books, National Film Board of Canada shorts, the province of Nova Scotia, analogue technology (I don't have a cellular phone and I think they're totally stupid and pointless... and where did VHS tapes and cathode ray tube televisions go?) My favorite book, hands-down, is 'Bartleby the Scrivener' by Herman Melville. My favorite film, although it's difficult to decide, I would say is the 1984 film 'The Killing Fields' (based on a true story). My favorite actor is Julian Richings and I'm a really big fan of all his work. I love films and television shows, so much so that I can't list them all. I also have quite the extensive list of ones I hate.
I live in the wonderful Canadian province of Nova Scotia, Canada. I'm currently studying Library & Information Technology. I don't really do much else, but my hobbies include film photography and super 8 filmmaking (yes, film isn't dead after all), reading, watching films and... that's it.
Anyhow, I review books constantly so if you want me to review one, or if you want to review one of mine, just send a message! :)
